Split Screen on 1 Monitor with - 1 Set to Photowall & 2 Set to Video Playback - Unable to Skip or Delete video files

Post by Levien »

Dear GBP,

I've been using this feature a lot. Where I set my Television to be Split into 2 horizontal dividers. Using the Split Screen 1 For a Photowall and the Split screen 2 for Video Content Playback.

I have this configured in the Filter Section for each respective monitor split.

The problem I am running into:
- 1: Is that whenever you want to delete a video that is playing on the left (2nd Right Split Screen), you cannot delete it.
- 2: There is no option to skip videos anymore by clicking on the right side of the horizontal split (2nd Right Split Screen)

Could this be fixed in a future update. Basically what I am asking for is to be able to skip the video, by clicking on the Right Split Screen

I attached some images of the result, and the setup process.

I am not sure if you aware of this issue / restriction, or that it cannot be done coding wise. But it would help out sorting out the garbage from your library. Or just change / skip the video you don't like.

Thank you kindly in advance!

Here's two more on how the filters for the split screens are configured:

Image only for the Left Screen Split Screen Setup in Photowall Mode:
Screen 1 Set to Image Only copy.jpg
Screen 1 Set to Image Only copy.jpg (346.66 KiB) Viewed 6029 times
Video Only for the RIght Screen section of the Split Screen setup
Screen 2 set to video only copy.jpg
Screen 2 set to video only copy.jpg (342.75 KiB) Viewed 6029 times
Looking forward to hearing form you! Hoping this can be implemented in the next update! Would add a lot of functionality in cleaning up any unwanted content, or being able to skip boring videos or videos that you are just not interested in at that time.

Thank you kindly in advance!

Kind Regards,

1- Unfortunately video files can't be deleted because they are being used by the video player. The easiest solution is to "Exclude" the files. By clicking on the Exclude button gPhotoShow will add that file to exclusion list and you will not see it any longer.
There is also a specific hotkey to exclude file on second monitor (M2)
2-This feature is not implemented, the "skip to next image" command works on all monitors according the display method configured in "Multiple monitors" page. For this reason when default transition is "Photo Wall" the operation to skip to next image is disabled. I understand that in your case could be useful. I will see if it can be implemented in a next update.
