captions with Exif,IPTC,XMP metadata - turn on/off?

Can I turn the captions on and off with a right click on the desktop?

I don't want the captions visible all the time.

And I want to be able to access them very quickly - say only when an image catches my eye. And then with 2 clicks or less.
Perhaps even show for a set period. (eg 20 seconds or 40 seconds or 2 minutes)
And then have the caption disappear easily after.

Can the current version do this?

If not: In the current version how do I turn captions on and off? (Intended users are 87 and 82 years of age. Complexity is not a viable option.)
