I am using v1.5.1 and have had a problem for quite some time where the screen saver will show as disabled in the taskbar. I enable, but after a second, it goes back to disabled. I find if I reboot the system, it works ok for a while, but after some time (the time varies from hours to a day or so), it goes back to always disabled. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.

Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
Re: Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
ControlSS icon only reflects the windows screen saver status, if it
displays "disabled" it means that for some reason the windows screen
saver is disabled and can't be started. There are several possible
causes for this, first of all you should check the screen saver
configuration, then if it isn't enabled try closing all running
programs, some of them could prevent the screen saver from starting (for
example Windows Media Player is one of these programs).
In addition on vista and 7 when you stop the screen saver within few seconds from its startup windows disables it for a variable amount of time.
Anyway ControlSS only reads the screen saver status from windows and changes its icon accordingly, it never enables/disables the screen saver by itself.

Re: Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
This just started happening on both of my machines - I don't understand what this means.
Re: Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
Read the answer above, there no any reason for showing the disabled icon

But the screen saver is working...when I came in this morning, gPhotoShow Pro was displaying on the screen.
Re: Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
I don't understand your problem.
ControlSS icons reflects windows internal status in that moment, it is updated every few seconds. Later it could change and screen saver starts.
I repeat again:

Re: Enable Screen Saver - Immediately Disables
But I've never seen this before and now it's happening on both my machines and the disabled status is constant, not changing. If this is normal, then why show it at all?
