Windows 11 has an option on screen saver:

"on resume, always display logon screen"

I have this unchecked, but I'm always getting a logon screen after the screen saver.

Are you sure it's off topic? I have no problem with the default Windows 11 screen saver, this issue only occurs with gPhotoShow.

Yes, it's a windows issue, or better it's an issue of your system. The screen saver never handles or triggers the lock screen. In addition since windows 10 Microsoft kills the screen saver without waiting for it to exit.

I wonder what setting I have on my system that's doing it!

To be clear, if I select any other screen saver (3D text, photos, etc.) I can interrupt the screen saver without a logon screen. Only when i select "gphotoshow pro 10 64bit" do i get a logon screen after interrupt.

Unfortunately I can't guess what is causing that issue.
When you interrupt the screen saver gPhotoShow does nothing, simply exits. And anyway as far as I remember nobody else reported this issue.

You're right. It was the NVIDIA app and a custom script running.
