I've used the free edition of gPhotoShow photo screen saver on my Windows 10 machine for many years and am able to say it's the best I've come across. However I've just tried to use it on my new Windows 11 Pro machine with version 23H2 installed. Although I select gPhotoShow in the screensaver settings dialog it does nothing more than the bog standard Windows SS. Transistions? No, filename and path? No.
So I ask is the free edition compatible with Windows 11? Is the paid for version any better?
Windows 11 compatibility
Re: Windows 11 compatibility
Hello,
gPhotoShow Free and Pro work fine on Windows 11.
If you only get a black screen it means there is no picture to display. Check gPhotoShow settings and make sure the configured directories are correct and contain images to display

gpb. Hi!
Thanks for your reply.
No I didn't get a black screen. I got, what I will call, no gPhotoshow functionality. The screen saver that operated was exactly the same as the default Windows 11 one. However IO have subsequently run gPhotoShow64.exe (the setup app), and clicked on <Preview> which responds with "No images selected" or some such wording. I have now gone to the <Images> tab, <add directory> and set up a directory, saved it and now it's working.
