Delete key not working to assign "Open copy/move/tools windows"

Post by Ray »

Hi there!
I just wanted to add a shortcut to the "Open copy/move/tools windows" shortcut, but I wanted to use the Delete key for that. However it does not work, same goes for backspace, all other keys work fine. Backspace also does not work.

I have no caps lock on, no keybindings to that key from my keyboard software, it will just not be mapped, even the num lock key does work.

I've had this function set up for ages on other screensavers / slideshows I created.

Could this be because this particular slideshow is only running video files?

I attached an image of the function I wanted to bind to the delete key. I know it worked in the past for me...

Looking forward to your feedback, or solution, or perhaps this needs to be fixed in a next update?

Thank you!

kind regads,

Levien

Below an example of a screensaver I created in the past, where it did actually work!
Here you can see it is working on screensavers created in the past.PNG

Hello,
thanks for the report.
It's a bug in the current release, the control where you type the key was not configured correctly to accept all keys. It will be fixed in the next update.

Hi thanks for the new update and fixing this issue!

Altough I am running into problem.

On the older version the "Open copy/move/tools windows" shortcut looked like this, where you could actually manage images, open tools etc.

I attached an image of the old Dialogue window (which still works on my older screensavers)

But the new version seems to have stripped away all these abilities and is just able to only move or copy to a certain file. There is no delete option, no tools option, etc. I mapped the exact same shortcut: "Open copy/move/tools windows" to my delete but now I get a whole different Dialogue window, in which I can't manage too much. An image of that window is attached below.

Any feedback on this. I must say, i did only try the new dialogue out on a video slideshow, and not an image slideshow, but it would certainly has to have a delete option. Usually for video it worked like this in the past, whenever a video came that you didn't like, and wanted to delete, it said, the file is currently in use, yes off course, makes sense, but i would switch to the next video, and the dialogue would still be present, and when I was at the next video I could delete the previous video, because it was no longer in use (or being played back)...

Am I doing something wrong here, or did you strip away some of the "Open copy/move/tools windows"functionalities?

Looking forward on your feedback and input on this.

Any news on the faster scrolling speeds for photo walls as well? really looking forward seeing that integrated into an update.

Thanks! Have a lovely day! And keep up the great work!

Kind reagrds,

make sure the checkbox "Always Open thumbnails window..." is ticked like in the screen shot from gPhotoShow 8 you posted above. When it is not ticked and there is a single image gPhotoShow displays the smaller window.

Thanks for that info! I indeed had the thumbnail option selected on older version, in the newer ones I haven't so that explains :D now it does work as expected! GREAT! So thanks for fixing this issue!
