From the log file I can see there is no error setting the new wallpaper and the function to extend the desktop actually does nothing except to notify the system that the display configuration changed.
It seems you are running Win11 24H2 and unfortunately there are a few issues with wallpaper changers:

What bad news. But hey, at least now I know I should wait patiently and stay calm that it's not a problem with my computer

Anyway I tested WallpaperSS 5.2.5 on 4 computers with Win11 24H2 and found no problems. It worked on all 4 PCs, maybe there is some specific software/hardware configuration that triggers those problems.

Don't tell me that now haha...

I swear I'm not kidding.
If I put a flash drive in one of the front USB ports... the wallpapers start to change.
