Suggestion: Animations

Are there any plans to implement support for animation in GIF and PNG format images? I know that would probably be pretty tricky, considering the current way of doing things that is basically converting everything to BMP and then setting it as the wallpaper the old fashioned way.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Unfortunately displaying an animated desktop is more than tricky, it requires to inject in the system at least one component developed by us and this could be really complex to implement and is a potential cause of system instability. For there reason we have no plan to implement animations in the near future.
