Hi
Occasionally the ss crashes to a black screen and the music stops. Hitting any key then closes it. I have not been able to figure out why or when this happens, or how to reproduce it, but it is concerning.
I saw a discussion here about black screening a while back
and you said black screens are usually caused by the ss not being able to find a file.
If the file list has just been imported (reset)
then surely there should be no missing files?
I am running Windows ten on reasonably fast machines.
Any advice on how to fix or check for possible causes?
Thanks ~ NDV
Black screen crash occasionally
Re: Black screen crash occasionally
From your description of the issue it seems some audio file is causing the player to crash
gPhotoShow Pro uses Windows media player to play audio files as well as video. It could happen that media player crashes on specific audio files. This is not something that can be fixed.
A gPhotoShow extended log file might help identify the problem, but since audio files are played by the media player, it is very unlikely that anything can be done about it.

Re: Black screen crash occasionally
It is important to me to remove the offending music file,
so how would I access an 'extended log file'?
(I have 22 mp3 files for the music).

From gPhotoShow Pro settings go to "Errors and logging" page, tick the option "Enable extended logging"
For standalone screen saver just use the log option in the creation window
