I was pulling my hair out because my screen saver would run fine from the desktop but not when put it System32. Works perfectly from Windows.

Some additional information and a solution. Try putting the screen saver in a folder on the desktop and see if it runs from there. If so, copy it to c"\Windows, not c:\WIndows\System32. In a post by gub, he/she points this out and it works. Apparently, it matters of the OS is 64 bit vs 32 bit.

I have exactly the same problem with 7.4.9 but your explanation does not clarify the corrective action.
