Re: Process randomly exits

Well this is embarrassing. Not for the first time, and probably not for the last.

After activating and parsing a whole bunch of new Event Viewer logs I found an errant Task Scheduler task created on April 24th that was running taskkill /f /im wallpaperss64.exe at 19:17 every day, and I just ...

Re: Process randomly exits

Thanks for the quick response.

I can't find any entries referencing Wallpaper Slideshow Pro in any of the Application, Setup or System logs. I used the Find function to look for WallpaperSS64.exe and also a manual look around the correct timestamp but there was nothing.

The only log to have ...

Process randomly exits

Hi Gianpaolo,

(I don't normally address forum posts directly to developers but you're so quick to answer queries in here I'll make an exception. Obviously if any other users have a similar problem, or can suggest a possible cause, I welcome any and all clues!)

I'm running Wallpaper Slideshow Pro ...

Re: Monitor IDs randomly swap - workaround is clunky

Apologies for not seeing this reply sooner. Not the first time that's happened. I'm not sure whether I was forgetting to check the "notify on reply" box or if the notifications are being filtered into my spam folders. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Obviously I missed the chance to download the ...

Re: Monitor IDs randomly swap - workaround is clunky

Thanks for the detailed response.

I didn't realise it was enumerating using a Windows function. It makes it even more bizarre that Windows itself never swaps the IDs on the multiple display selection screen even when they swap in WallpaperSSPro. It's as though Windows isn't using its own function ...

Monitor IDs randomly swap - workaround is clunky

Hi.

WallpaperSSPro has worked brilliantly for me, for many years across various versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11, with one primary and one secondary monitor. I have a fixed wallpaper on my primary and a slideshow on the secondary.

But I recently exchanged my secondary monitor for a different ...

Re: HEIC support

FWIW I used the Brave Search feedback tool last week, and as of March 1st 2025 the AI is now returning a more accurate if non-committal answer to this question. Its primary citation is now the author's reply, rather than my OP, but with the caveat "This may not fully resolve the issue." I'm guessing ...

Re: HEIC support

Apologies for necroing this thread but there are three reasons:

1. You are absolutely right, Wallpaper SS Pro does display HEIC files if those instructions are followed.

2. I must apologise profusely for not seeing this reply for two years . Really not sure how I missed it, or why I forgot to ...

HEIC support

I'm a long-time user of both gPhotoShow and Wallpaper Slideshow Pro , and I've recently started taking a lot more photos with my iPhone than with my dSLR which means most of them are stored in HEIC format.

I was surprised to note that while gPhotoShow supports HEIC on Windows 10 via the Windows ...
