I just upgraded from 7.4.9 to 8.0.5 and on 2 of my 3 machines, the application crashes almost immediately:

Are you using gPhotoShow as logon screen saver (Screen saver that runs when no user is logged in) ?
In this case it's a known issue. If you are using a 64 bit windows version you can install the 64 bit version of gPhotoShow Pro, if you have a 32 bit version of windows only solution is to go back to version 7

Yes, logon screensaver. I didn't even see the 64 bit. I'll install that. Also, I am not getting emails that this forum post was updated, am I supposed to be?

Updated machines to 64 bit. Still crashing. Slightly different error (different memory location).

Installing is not enough, you must configure the 64 bit version. Executable name is different

Actually, I'm not sure exactly what I need to do. I did this on 2 machines, one worked, the other is still crashing:

32 and 64 bit versions have different names and executable files, simply installing the 64 bit version is not enough, you must set it as default screen saver and configure it as logon screen saver:

On the windows screen saver applet choose "gPhotoShow Pro 8 64-bit", then in the System Settings page click again on "Set gPhotoShow and Save", in the screen saver name you must read "gPhotoShow64.scr"

Ok, it's working now. I thought I had done exactly what you said, but on one machine it was not working. So I did it again, and now it is working.
