Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
Thanks Gianpaolo that's great to know - I did some research & found others having the same issue. I now think it's a bug in Windows 8. Anyway I resolved it by chance when I was playing with the screensaver settings. I changed the wait time to 10 minutes & it went active. Changed back to 1 mi...

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
I could never resolve the choppiness. I tried so many things. Installing a PCIe video card (an nVidia GeForce 8400GS) didn't help. Windows 8 didn't help. So for that & other unrelated reasons, plus the fact that I bought a solid state drive for this computer, I reinstalled Windows 8 cleanly. Jus...

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
Thanks, that's good info to know. Anyway after I upgraded to Windows 8, it worked much better. Not perfect, but at least the video is quite watchable compared to before. And I now have to agree with you that it is probably something not related to gPhotoShow. Now that you mentioned the thing about t...

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
I just want to bring this up again regarding the speed issue of transitions & videos. I tried numerous things - all of what I specified earlier in this thread (updating VLC, downgrading VLC to 1.x, upgrade to quad core CPU, up RAM to 4 GB, disable secondary monitor, etc.), plus I just recently u...

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
Also (separate observation) I've been forgetting to mention that the time displays without the 1st digit on my secondary monitor (1440x900) but displays fine on the primary TV (1920x1080). So 4:51 PM displays as ":51 PM", 10:30 AM would display as "0:30 AM".

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
Cool - if you add it, I'll have it scan at like 4 AM daily. Then when I upload new pics, I know they will appear next day guaranteed. :) Now I just observed an interesting but very minor bug. When a video is played (one that is long enough that the time changes), the time of day does not quite refre...

Re: Occasional crash
Well so far so good - it has not stayed disabled since the upgrade. Perhaps this is partly because the corrupt videos are out of the mix. But I will let you know if it happens ever again. I wonder if VLC 2.0.1 is a factor as well.

Re: My Wish List
Awesome!!! 1 very minor thing that I noticed when using that feature is that the 2nd of the 4 thumbnails is highlighted, & if I press the right arrow to highlight the 3rd thumbnail, I have to press it twice before it will go. (1st press of the right arrow key does nothing - 2nd moves the highlig...

Re: gPhotoShow 6 Observations
Another related observation plus some more info... I got up this morning & turned on the TV & displayed the PC with the screensaver running. The hard drive was displaying very little activity at that time. Yet still, the 2D transitions are a bit choppy - doesn't matter which transitions but ...

gPhotoShow 6 Observations
The first thing that I noticed is that my hard drive is grinding away constantly since upgrading to version 6.0.1. I tried a few things to see if they helped but my hard drive still grinds away constantly - which it did not do anywhere near as much with version 5.x.x: Change from DirectX activity (w...
